Banchory August 2019
12 DOGS played Banchory on a windy day in August. There was a fair bit of thrashing around in grass and bushes looking for the odd stray. The course was in good condition but there were surprisingly few golfers out that day.

The DOGS Weekend Broughty Ferry - August 2019
The results from this weekend’s D.O.G.S. competition from the Broughty Ferry (suburb of Dundee), not that they like to be reminded.
16 DOGS + 1 Guest (Derek Cooper who played all three rounds) turned up at Downfield for the inaugural Stableford round. The prerequisite Bacon roll or two & coffee pre-round was enjoyed by everyone and draw was made for the first round. Downfield was in absolutely great condition, with fast greens, nice lush fairways, no wind and beautiful sunshine – could in get any better!!. On completion of the round we then headed off to Broughty Ferry to prepare for our next round. Murray & Kenny (with guitar) were the musical entertainment for the Friday evening

Sunday, Montrose Links
Medal and 2nd Round of Captain’s prize competition.

- Closest contender was; Ron Amy with (54 points), with Roy Brown & Tom O’Rourke on (52 points).
Many thanks to Alex McKay for his usual superb organisation of the weekend. The hotel, courses, the evening meals and the company were very pleasurable and another weekend of enjoyment. Also a thanks to Derek Cooper for joining us.
Brechin July 2019
16 DOGS played Brechin on a day that changed from sunshine to showers numerous times throughout the round.
So glad that we all got finished before the heavens opened up and what a downpour it was. The course was in good condition with some Dogs mapping their way round the course better than others.
We all then made our annual pilgrimage to Roy & Debbie’s gorgeous home for a BBQ. With Tom & Alex Bruce being the Masters of the Grill. It was super day with everyone enjoying the garden & food, wine, beer, cider, port, more wine.
The professional musicians were missed but there was still a lot of noise singing being done.
Thanks again to Roy & Debbie for inviting us all to their lovely home
Ellon June 2019
Dear Dogs
First Time at Ellon (McDonald Golf Club) for a number of years and a inaugural visit for some DOGS. Weather was pleasant with only a slight breeze and as can be seen in the photo\’s a number of DOGS came prepared in shorts.
11 DOGS played on the day with Dave Raby managing to play an early round at neighbouring Newburgh before joining us at Ellon. Scoring was very tight on the day with only 10 shots separating the shield winner and the Gnome winner. The course was in good overall condition with the greens being in great condition.
Cheers,
Mike
